A confidential and reflective space offered on-line and face to face
My name is Alice Davies and I am a counsellor offering face-to-face and online counselling in the Somerset area.
Modern life can bring with it many stresses, pressures, and challenges and at times we can feel overwhelmed. Together we can look at who you are and the impact of what is going on for you, helping you to develop your self-awareness and to think about the changes you would like to make.
Often our difficulties may have developed from problematic relationships from our past which we continue to unconsciously play out in ways which may be unhelpful. Counselling can allow you to develop better understanding of yourself and your relationships.

What I offer...
I offer a confidential, calm space free from judgement and expectations. I provide warmth and sensitivity, aiming to walk alongside you and enter into your world to help you discover what’s really going on for you.
It may be difficult to talk to those around you about your thoughts and feelings and to be honest about what’s really going on for you. Unshared feelings can feel like a burden and can lead to us feeling isolated and alone. My aim is to help you express these feelings and allow you to re-evaluate your life and to move towards a fresh sense of self. I’ll gently encourage you to step out of your busy life and to stop and reflect.
I work in a collaborative way placing emphasis on our working relationship where the assumption is always that you are the expert on you. Such a therapeutic relationship over time can enable you to begin to question some of your beliefs and assumptions about yourself, develop self-awareness, value yourself and free you up to lead a fuller and more complete life by enabling positive change and growth.
Although this list is not exhaustive, as each individual will bring their own unique issues and experiences, here are a few of the common difficulties I can help support you with through counselling:
Anxiety
Autism Spectrum Disorder
Bereavement
Chronic Illness
Chronic Pain
Depression
Divorce
Domestic Abuse

Family Conflict
Infertility

Peer Relationships
Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum

I am a BACP registered counsellor offering face-to-face and online counselling in the Taunton area. I work integratively which means I bring together a range of therapeutic knowledge and understanding to suit your needs. Before qualifying as a counsellor I worked in various areas of Social Work including working with those with Mental Health needs, those with long term physical conditions and in a hospice setting. More recently I have worked as a Pyschological Wellbeing Practitioner with the NHS using CBT techniques. I have also worked as a volunteer counsellor in a charitable organisation working with carers, and I currently volunteer for a non-profit counselling centre in Taunton alongside my work in private practice.
Throughout my working life I have met many different people, heard people’s unique life stories and have come to passionately believe in the value of supporting people therapeutically with their emotional and mental health.
I am a registered member of the BACP and hold public liability insurance. I am committed to working ethically, in an accountable and professional way. I keep my skills up to date by attending regular training courses.
My private practice is located in the centre of Taunton, TA14BH for face to face counselling sessions.
